For decades, we’ve watched Austin grow dynamically in nearly every direction. However, Southeast Austin has been the slowest to grow—until now. Circuit of the Americas brought Austin’s music culture and Formula One out to the area, then Tesla decided to put down roots in Southeast Austin, bringing thousands of new jobs and a visionary quality to the community. Years before this boom, the team at Marketplace Real Estate group had the insight that Austin’s Southeast corner would be the next big area to grow.
This insight allowed Marketplace to be early movers, and set the precedent for how thoughtful development should be done in the community. For decades, the local community has been underserved with insufficient food, medical, and commercial resources. From a new H-E-B, to space for medical centers, new parks, and retail sites, our development work is meeting those needs and bringing in jobs along the way. With our team playing a key role, Southeast Austin is growing into a mosaic of what we love most about Austin as a whole.
Land Stewardship
Unfortunately, many of the properties we come across in Del Valle and neighboring communities have been mistreated over time. We often find unkempt pieces of land where people have been dumping trash for years. Our team makes an active effort to renew the integrity of the land itself, and uplift the overall community through our cleanup work.
The work we put into hauling truckloads of trash off of our properties doesn’t just clean up our land—it makes nearby streams run cleaner, and makes the overall area a nicer place for the community to live in. Our land stewardship work has a positive ripple effect on the whole area, and prepares the land for whatever new life it will hold in its next chapter.

We’re Invested in Community
Having a supportive presence in the communities we work in is a top priority for our team at Marketplace. As the sponsor of Del Valle Little League, we’ve had the chance to provide scholarships for kids to play in the league, volunteer at events and games, and help cover general costs. We are continuing to find new, meaningful ways to connect with the Southeast Austin community and support them with our time and resources.
